What are the advantages of a professional Wedding Photographer?
This is an important question. With all of the technology available today, it seems that anyone
with a digital camera can call themselves a professional photographer.
A true wedding professional will capture your day consistently and unobtrusively.
Here are a few key
qualities to look for when considering a candidate:
• The ability to take charge of a large group with ease and a sense of fun.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the wedding day progression, from beginning to end.
• The ability to work with an event coordinator and/or other wedding professionals.
• Flexibility and a willingness to assist however needed to make sure that your day is all
that you imagined it would be.
• A style of shooting that both bride and groom truly love, while still adhering to the
photographer’s strengths.
We want you to look back on your wedding day as the ‘beautiful beginning’ of your wonderful
life together. We strive to capture all of the moments, large and small, for you and your family
to remember for generations to come.
What is your Wedding Photography style?
We specialise in photojournalism, fashion and still life photography. We have developed our wedding photography style by fusing all of these. Some of us have extensive experience shooting for modeling agencies, where standards are extremely high. We try to bring those same standards to each and every one of our clients.
How many years of experience do you have?
Our experiences are varied, in the 5 to 25 year range of shooting professionally.
What type of Wedding Photography Equipment do you use?
We use the latest Canon and Nikon digital SLR cameras and Wedding Photography Equipment, which can produce the highest-quality enlargements, up to 24”x36”. We shoot digitally, as we now have full creative control over the quality of the final images as opposed to being at the mercy of an outside lab.
Are the Photographers at Edward Benson Productions full-time employees?
At Edward Benson Productions we use the best Photographers in Melbourne. They are fulltime photographers (Fashion Editiorial, Commercial), that regularly shoot weddings with Edward Benson Productions. The idea is to keep our style and team fresh and vibrant.
Approximately how many pictures will be taken on the wedding day?
Everyone asks this question! It does depend. We have taken as many as 3,000 images and as few as 500. Generally, we take about 1,500 images. Why so many? We really strive to take advantage of modern technology. We want to capture that special fleeting moment, as well as telling the overall story of your day.
How long will you be at our ceremony and reception?
Our packages include coverage of the preparation through till the end of the formalities (Entrance, Cake Cutting, Speeches, First Dance) at the reception. Arrangements can be made for additional coverage if needed. We’re proud to say that we have been complimented on being “the hardest-working photographers” by numerous drivers, reception venue cordinators – and countless wedding guests as well!
How far will you travel to shoot a wedding, and what is your travel fee?
Our packages are for Melbourne based weddings. We will travel anywhere to shoot your wedding. We're flattered that there are people outside of Melbourne that love our work. We have shot weddings out of state and even overseas. There might be a travel fee. It will all depend on where your wedding is, but please ask.
How far in advance do you suggest we book our date with you?
We run our business on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, so the sooner you book, the more likely the chance you will be able to secure a date with us. Please book as far in advance as you are able to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Is there a deposit and do we need to sign a contract?
Yes, before a booking can be confirmed we require a 25% deposit and a completed copy of our Terms and Conditions.
Can you notify us if someone else wants our date?
We have a number of enquiries for information everyday. The dates range from a months time to three years. If we have met with a couple and someone else enquires about that date, we will do our best to advise you before our schedule is filled.
Can we have a copy of the high resolution files?
Yes, we provide a copy of the original images to the client. You can even pick them up the day after the wedding if you’d like.
How long do we wait until we can see our photos?
All Wedding Photography packages include a personalised online gallery. We make a range of images available on the online gallery within a few days of the wedding.
What type of albums do you offer?
The albums that are included in our packages are either Flushmount Style albums or Matted Style albums. We can of course organise, different style albums, additional albums and parent albums.
How long does it take to get the album?
Generally about 2 months. It depends on how fast all necessary selections are made. We like to have the completed Wedding Photography album to the client as quick as possible.
